Nicolas von Loeper will leave Bethmann Bank effective 1 April 2022 for personal reasons to seek new professional challenges. The bank is currently interviewing potential successors. Hans Hanegraaf will assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer on a provisional basis.

Frankfurt Main, January 17 2022 - Nicolas von Loeper (51) will leave Bethmann Bank effective end of March 2022 to seek new professional challenges. Von Loeper cited personal reasons for his decision to resign from the bank three years after joining it. He will become Managing Director of the single-family office of the Dohle family on 1 April 2022. “This was a difficult decision for me to make,” von Loeper said. “I would also like to stress that I continue to identify very closely with the bank and its staff. I have known the Dohle family for many years, and this friendship has now led to a business relationship. I also think that this career decision will enable me to better balance the needs and wishes of my family and my professional responsibilities.”

The bank has already begun to conduct initial interviews with potential successors. To create the time needed to find the right candidate, the bank’s management team has announced an interim management plan that will take effect at the beginning of the second quarter. Hans Hanegraaf will assume the position of Chief Commercial Officer in addition to continuing to serve as Chairman of the bank’s Management Board.

Hans Hanegraaf said: “On behalf of the entire management team of Bethmann Bank and ABN AMRO, we would like to thank Nicolas von Loeper for the successful work he did as Chief Commercial Officer. With the help of our staff, he successfully continued to intensify our traditionally strong focus on clients. His firm commitment to creating a modern private bank by linking traditional values with contemporary forms of action helped us to strengthen and stabilise Bethmann Bank’s position in the marketplace.”
