Progressive and exemplary - Bethmann Bank receives an award for quality of advice in private banking
Bethmann Bank awarded top marks in a Banking Test for its holistic approach and innovative video banking
For many years now, the "Best Local Bank" test has been carried out in over 200 towns and cities across Germany. It continues to be the most comprehensive Banking Test in Germany and is also the only one that is partly DIN-certified. For the very first time, the quality of advice in private banking was put under the microscope. Bethmann Bank achieved top marks out of all 46 banks tested: from preparing the ground for negotiations to the evaluation of the holistic aspects of wealth right through to the follow-up.
Progressive and exemplary
Particularly in view of the impact of coronavirus-related restrictions, the testers wanted to find out how good the quality of the advice is even before any personal contact. After all, in times of "social distancing", discerning clients should expect high-quality advice without having to meet their consultant first. And this is where Bethmann Bank scored top marks: "Highly innovative and exemplary" was the testers' verdict.
The test design provided for an interested party and potential client to form a concrete impression of the bank via telephone or video before getting into the car and driving there. Bethmann Bank's modern video advice presented a clear advantage to the testers.
The test design reflects state-of-the-art requirements
In addition to a client-friendly, straightforward and smooth technical process, the interested party should also sense during the initial contact that a comprehensive holistic approach is very much part of the experience. It was explicitly tested, to see whether the client was recommended both what he or she wanted and really needed. What was required here was a sound analysis of client needs and competent investment recommendations - the classic know-how and qualities of a private bank, with which Bethmann Bank was able to impress the testers.
The Private Banking Test of the Association for Quality Testing is now to be conducted annually in this format.
+++About the testing institute: the Association for Quality Testing assesses according to the current standards for excellent consultation and service quality. The testers are guided by the GoTs (Standard Principles of Mystery Shopping) and the test formats relate to private clients, construction financing, commercial clients and private banking. The Association for Quality Testing has among other things been involved in the development of DIN standard 77230 (Financial Analysis for Private Households). All test formats take into account these high quality requirements of consumer protection.
