Our independent Sustainability Advisory Board, consist of five outstanding experts and monitors the selection and criteria of our sustainable investments. The Advisory Board members advise us on the weighting of the sustainability criteria and constantly inspire us with new initiatives. As a result, social-ethical and scientific know-how influence the discussion. The Advisory Board is continuously kept informed about all transactions of our sustainable mandates. It supports our wealth management in aligning criteria for sustainable investments according to new scientific and social developments and assists in reviewing investments with regard to their sustainability.
The Sustainability Advisory Board was founded in 2011 and since then has been a key player in the independent monitoring of our sustainable investments. The members deal intensively with questions of sustainable investments in the context of their areas of expertise.
As a biologist, Christine von Weizsäcker is particularly concerned with genetic engineering and the protection of biodiversity. In addition to the ecological effects of new technologies, she is always concerned with the socio-economic impact assessment. She is President of Ecoropa (European Network for Ecological Reflection and Action) and as such participates in the environmental and sustainability negotiations of the United Nations. She has also published numerous publications and is a member of the advisory board of the Association of German Scientists.
She is one of the leading international experts on climate change and climate protection and was one of the coordinating lead authors of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) special report on the effects of global warming of 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels. Her research focuses on regional climate modeling, the water cycle and adaptation to the effects of climate change.
Sonja Schweizer comes from a fifth-generation family of entrepreneurs. Sustainable development is a particular priority for her, both with regard to the family office that she runs together with her husband and her own company, which she founded in 2011. Since 2018, Sonja Schweizer has held various advisory board positions in the areas of finance and sustainability as well as advising start-ups. She is particularly interested in promoting female entrepreneurs and women in management positions.
Ulf Doerner has been the Chairman of the independent Sustainability Advisory Board since it was founded in 2011. As a qualified electrical engineer, he advises companies on a wide range of issues - corporate social responsibility and change management are two of his main areas of expertise. He has also received numerous international environmental awards and is a member of the Club of Rome.
The strategic anchoring of sustainability in all its facets in multinational companies is one of her focal points. She was also a member of the Impact Investing working group of the Association of German Foundations and co-head of the Organizational Exploratory Programme of the international “The Wellbeing Project” for social entrepreneurs.
